Isn't this a fun way of celebrating Christmas in July? I don't know about you but I'm ready for December. The weather here in the Pacific Northwest has been unusually hot. We're headed into fire season and I'm hoping it won't be a bad year. Last year, all across the country, fires ravaged our forests and tree farms. Tree farms just like the one my heroine in Murder Under the Mistletoe owns and operates. I enjoyed learning about Christmas tree farming while writing this book almost as much as I enjoy visiting Christmas tree farms to pick out the perfect tree, drink some hot chocolate and maybe, if there's snow, have a snowball fight.
Tell me a Christmas Tradition you enjoy in the comments.
I'll be giving away a copy of Murder Under the Mistletoe!
AGENT UNDERCOVER
DEA agent Tyler Griffin must stop a drug cartel that's using an Idaho Christmas tree farm to smuggle narcotics across the Canadian border. But to do his job, Tyler needs the cooperation of farm owner and widowed mother Heather Larson-Randall—whose informant brother died on Tyler's watch. Tyler knows a crucial piece of evidence is hidden somewhere on the property. But getting the protective mother to trust him is the hardest part of his mission. As threats against Heather mount, he vows to keep her and her child safe…and clear the farm of danger before Christmas.

ReplyDeleteA nice quiet time with your spouse is lovely.
DeleteWe always go to Midnight Mass as a family.
ReplyDeleteA Christmas tradition that I sorely miss is my mother's family would all gather on Christmas eve usually at my grandparent's house and have dinner, tell stories and exchange gifts then those who wanted to do so could return the next day. Since my grandparents and my mother and now one her brothers has died no one seems to want to keep that tradition alive. For my kids, it was about the only time that they saw their cousins.
ReplyDeleteThose are great memories of family time. Maybe you and your kids could host? It's hard when family's are far from each other.
DeleteA tradition in our family is to give a new ornament every year to the grandkids.
ReplyDeleteMaking white fruit cake.
ReplyDeleteReceiving my sister in laws secret ingredient ginger snap cookies in the mail always gets us all in the holiday celebrating mood
ReplyDeleteOur church has a Christmas Eve service. Children perform the Nativity story and at the end they bring up the baby Jesus from their home nativity set to be blessed. When they get home, they place it in their manger. We have enjoyed bringing our grandchildren but still attend the service without children. It is such a joyful event.
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas our family gathers and spends the day cooking a wonderful meal together that we then enjoy.
ReplyDeleteReading The Night Before Christmas 🎄 Opening 1 Gift and Watching A Christmas 🎄 Story for 24 hours
ReplyDeleteLooks like a Great Book 📚 Thank You for Being Part of this Fun Blog Hop
My favorite tradition is when we place a white dove on our Christmas tree at midnight on Christmas morning for each immediate family member who has passed away. It's our way of having our loved ones with us during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteEvery night at 7pm from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas night there is a Cantata over the internet at FBNRADIO.COM. They have a wonderful selection of musicals. I hate to miss even one!
ReplyDeleteChristmas was the one time of year I could count on my son being home! He died in a freak boating accident at the beginning of April in 2008. I think I may adopt your tradition as one of my own if you don't mind. It would be like having him home again in a way.
