Summer!

Hello, I hope you're surviving the first few weeks of summer. Here in the Pacific Northwest we've had some really hot (98') days and then plummeting to the low 50's. I have to keep a sweater handy.
I'm working on a new book that will be out next year. I have a new release coming out in August.
So far the reviews have been positive for this book. The series is set in NYC which I'm thrilled about as I lived there when I was in my twenties.
I'll be doing a giveaway soon to my newsletter subscribers. If you want to be included, sign up. I only send out a newsletter once a month or so.

We've been going on walks in the evening. I snapped this photo of the tip of Mt. Hood as we came over the rise. This Bible verse came to mind when I saw the mountain.

Lots going on!

The past month or so has been busy! I was able to visit the set of the filming of A Family Under the Christmas Tree! The cast and crew were so welcoming and kind. It was a fascinating adventure. I will post pictures closer to the release date, which I don't have yet.
Entertainment Weekly mentioned A Family Under the Christmas! How cool is that.

After my trip to the set, I flew off to Munich where my husband was finishing up with a business meeting. We toured the city, which is lovely. But the best part for me was taking a trip in to the Bavarian Alps to visit Neuschwanstein Castle.

One of the places my husband really wanted to visit was the BMW Museum.  A fascinating collection of cars spanning the company's existence.  The architecture in Munich was awe inspiring.

We stayed in Munich for four days then headed to Prague for another four days. It was surprisingly sunny and warm. I had to buy a hat.  Everyday we walked 6-9 miles as we explored the city.  It was a splendid vacation.  We're already dreaming about the next one.
The St. Charles bridge is in the background.

This is the Old Town Square in the middle of Prague. The view from one of one of the many tall buildings.

I came home exhausted but also refreshed. And had to jump right into the next book. I turned in the second book of my own series set in the fictional town of Bristle Township. Book 1 came out in March 2019, Buried Mountain Secrets.

Book 2, Secret Mountain Hideout is scheduled to be released in January 2020.  I don't have the cover yet.

I'm super excited for my upcoming August release, Seeking the Truth, book 5 of the True Blue K-9 Unit continuity series.  Isn't this a gorgeous cover! It really captures the feel of the story set in New York City.  The book is available for pre-order

Her investigation could prove fatal…

In this exciting True Blue K-9 Unit installment

By secretly investigating the New York City K-9 Command Unit chief’s murder, reporter Rachelle Clark puts a bull’s-eye on her back. Single dad and K-9 unit officer Carter Jameson thought Rachelle was reporting on police-field-dog trials—not his brother’s death. Though he’s not happy about her true purpose, the danger is real…and he and his trusty German shepherd must save her.

Pitching and Proposals

This past week I sat on a panel with author Lynda Aicher at Jan's Paperbacks bookstore in Beaverton, Oregon and talked about how to pitch to agents and editors, both with the written query and in-person. We also discussed what a proposal is and how to make it shine.  As well as how to answer the question; "What do you write?"
Lynda and I write on opposite ends of the spectrum and our processes are just as diverse. But writing is like that.  Every writer's process and path is unique to them and, thankfully, there is a wide variety of books to choose from for all readers.

Such a fun time! We talked for two hours. Thank you to Jan's Paperback for having us!

Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide.

Can they get off the mountain alive?

Desperate to find her missing teenage brother, Maya Gallo ventures into the Colorado Rockies expecting rough terrain—not deadly treasure hunters. The deputy sheriff knows what these bandits are capable of, so getting Maya—and her brother—home safely may be his hardest mission yet
